My visits to Parramatta have been quite infrequent, and it's been quite a while since I've stopped by on a weekday afternoon, especially after deciding that the hour long bus ride followed by half an hour train ride and twenty minute walk to uni was too much to handle on a daily basis. It didn't seem like a very long time since I last stopped by, but the fact that Hungry Jacks had closed down and had been replaced by a burger bar without me knowing probably shows that it's been a lot longer than I thought it'd been.
The Burger Mill, which now sits where HJ's used to be is quite interesting, with it's funky retro fit out, coupled with quirky touches such as interesting books scattered throughout the restaurant, about ten different vintage styles of sugar containers, plush burgers hanging on the walls, and mini garden of pineapples. It's a good thing we visit during the quieter hours in the late afternoon (it doesn't seem to be popular with students!), as we don't seem as weird walking around checking out every corner of the place while we wait for our food.

Traditional Beef Burger
The excitement returned however, when the burgers came, starting with the Traditional Beef Burger, your typical definition of a burger with a thick crusty bun sandwiching a beef patty between slices of tomato, lettuce, onion and a slice of cheese. The homemade burger bun, one of their main selling points was nice and soft, with a thick crusty exterior, though my personal preference is for soft buns with my burgers. Our favourite part was definitely the hot chips which were fried to perfection with the perfect amount of crunch and fluffiness.
Roast Lamb Burger
The roast lamb burger though having a different filling, was quite similar with its lamb patty (ours was burnt) tasting not too different from the beef, albeit a tad saltier. We found the addition of roast pumpkin and potato an interesting touch and I quite enjoyed it despite not being much of a fan of pumpkin.
