A short note to end the year :)

Hope everyone had great Christmas!! :)

Just letting you guys know that I'll be taking a short break from blogging whilst I go on holidays. I'll be back soon after the New Year so until then, hope you all have a great time! :D

And while I have the chance, here's a picture of the first ever bento I made (earlier this year) but never got around to posting on my blog! It's far from perfect, and took me forever to make....but it was heaps fun!

And on another note, the wonderful people at delivery hero chose me as one of their ten winners of the ‘Not Just Another Food Blogger’ award!! (This is my blog's first proper award so thank-you so much guys!!)They also did a short interview with me- check it out here

They were also kind enough to send me a super cute tea-towel as a gift which I love so much (but haven't had a chance to take a picture of to show you guys yet!

Korean Fried Chicken Wings

I've been in love with Korean fried chicken since I first had it at a Korean buffet, which unfortunately closed down shortly after I'd discovered it. Since then, they've been an occasional indulgence since they're quite pricey and I don't really eat out at Korean restaurants that much.

So I was quite excited when I chanced upon an amazing looking recipe for these chicken wings which looked exactly like the ones I've had at Korean restaurants. So excited infact, that chicken wings shot to the top of my grocery shopping list and the next day, I was already making these for lunch!

Malaysian Eats Around Sydney

When my friend told me she was in the mood for Malaysian food, a quick google search resulted in many terrific Malaysian eateries that we wanted to try so we spent our next couple of lunches visiting a few of them :)

Ipoh On York
Asam Laksa ($10.5)

We start first at Ipoh on York, as it's one of the few Malaysian restaurants which are actually open on weekends- and it's incredibly quiet too, with only one other table eating in when we walked in at around 12 on a Saturday afternoon. It's a food-court style restaurant, where you pay and pick up the food at the counter before taking a seat. We have a bit of difficulty both choosing what to order and reading the menu on the board above the counter but luckily the staff were nice enough to hand us some takeaway menus to sit down and look over whilst we decided.

My friend went for the asam laksa, a quite different variation to the laksa we're used to- the slightly sour soup was an interesting and refreshing change and we didn't find it too spicy for our tastes.

Roti Canai ($3 each)
